Roll Into the New Year with Productivity in Mind:
Eileen Lichtenstein in Long Island Business News

Eileen Lichtenstein: 'Be clear to when to say no. It's better to say, 'Let me think about it,'
than to give a quick answer.'

But progress may require a holistic approach, a sense of purpose and the willingness to cultivate constructive feedback.
"Work-life integration, is essential," said Eileen Lichtenstein, a Uniondale-based professional coach who helps clients boost productivity.
"If the day-to-day things that happen in your personal life are not going well - if you're overreacting or unhappy - that goes hand-in-hand with productivity," said Lichtenstein, the author of "SOAR with Resilience."
Lichtenstein recommends starting the morning, even before leaving bed, with some "positive visualization for outcomes with work."
You're "getting your day off to a very positive start," she noted. "Even if the baby was crying at night or you're facing a breakfast table at home that's not happy, at least you have that [positive start] behind you before you go to work."

Harmony vs. Work/Life Balance

Finding work-life balance in today's frenetically paced world may not be possible. Spend more time at work than at home, and you miss out on a rewarding personal life. Then again, when you face challenges in your personal life, such as caring for an aging parent or coping with marital problems and/or children, concentrating on your job can be difficult. Whether the problem is too much focus on work or too little, when your work life and your personal life feel out of balance, stress - along with its harmful effects - is the result. Think HARMONY!
It's not about either/or (home or work). Harmony is achievable and sustainable! Here's how:
Bring your authentic self (core values, intuition) to all areas of your life. Understanding how to do that, within each area will energize you and help you feel "balanced".
- Focus on your natural strengths.
- Ask for help when you need it!
- Walk your talk at work and at home.
Take Cleansing Breaths: Three sets of deep inhalations through the nose (belly rising) and exhaling through the nose, (abdomen deflating) can (temporarily) change your physiology.
Stretch: Practice Office Yoga and the Moving Meditation® Fitness Program throughout the day to release/reduce tension and increase energy.
Walk: A five minute walk outside can change your mood and mindset.
Listen to Music: A mood changer.
Eat Peacefully: This aids the digestion and gives you "time away". Leave your office!
Allow Time: Give yourself extra time for the unexpected.
Smile and Laugh: Humor has been proven effective in reducing stress.

Doing The Important Work in Your Speaking Business with Eileen Lichtenstein, MS. Ed.

10-20-2020 Author: Tim McDonald
Eileen Lichtenstein went from owning a dance studio to becoming an educator and then evolved it into a speaking business. She saw how important her work was in educating students and working with clients. This especially became evident right after 9-11.
As an educator, Eileen Lichtenstein knew the importance of knowing her material. Knowing more than she needed to know to be able to present the information with confidence. As she began speaking, she realized that it just wasn't the material you knew but also that putting yourself in the right frame of mind and body could be really helpful as well. She began practicing breathing and relaxation before getting in front of a group of people. This allowed her to make an impact and do the important work with her speaking business.
What other lessons did Eileen Lichtenstein share?
- Resilience it about being flexible
- Humor is very important when delivering valuable information
- You make a difference one person at a time
- Never underestimate the value of a business coach, and a decent webmaster, you can trust

Impossible to Please?

"The silent treatment" is the most common form of withholding and encompasses any unwillingness to express your true feelings, including an unwillingness to give support, praise, or positive attention to the people you love. We have all known someone who is impossible to please, and many of us have suddenly found ourselves at the other end of a chilly silence with no explanation. At the same time, many of us will recognize our own tendency to withhold our emotions rather than express them. Most of us have seen both sides of the withholding dilemma. Emotional pain is at the root of our tendency to withhold, and withholding causes pain to the people subjected to it. It is a dysfunctional pattern that creates a breakdown in communication and understanding.

Mindfulness is defined as paying attention and being fully in the moment. The influence of technology in our fast-paced world often causes the problem of lack of focus on a particular task. In our modern often chaotic world, frustration levels rise quickly, giving way to stress and anger. Impatience and frustration go hand-in-hand. A workplace culture and personal mindfulness awareness is especially helpful to maintain inner peace and personal balance

11 Tips for Maintaining Equilibrium in Uncertain Times
Maintaining equilibrium emotionally, physically and spiritually is key to being happy-focused-disciplined- successful in all areas of life. Emotionally, it's the opposite of being "stuck in a rut" and it's about being positive. Physically, it can translate to strength and flexibility. Spiritually, maintaining hope in tumultuous times. It's about staying centered and grounded and making "right" choices.(Continued Here)

Intercepting Curve Balls for Entrepreneurs
This gives us focus and ensures that we use our time and energy efficiently and effectively. It also provides us with a sense of purpose and direction. We know where we are going and what we want to do. Quite often, however, due to forces outside our control, things do not go as we had planned. Entrepreneurs need to be especially flexible - even at short notice. Even positive turns of fortune - an unexpected influx of cash or contract signed - requires us to be flexible and to reconsider our plans and priorities, sometimes in the blink of an eye.(Continued Here)

Pay Attention to Your Intuition
Being an entrepreneur may present conflicting and confusing road signs. Second guessing is not a good idea, so I fully advocate sitting with the possibilities before making a strategic choice. I've had to do this at several crossroads in my career, and know it's OK to revise and seek advice when outcomes are not as planned and doubt takes over. One situation in particular on my path as an entrepreneur presented many possibilities - and I found it helpful to detach myself from all potential business activities for a while to make firm and smart choices. I had a "fresh start" - friends and colleagues encouraged me to consider all my interests, talents and passions.

While our programs and events are designed to help grow your business we also work with local, county and state legislature to help the Long Island business community have a unified voice for your concerns and to protect your interest.
The dictionary does not tell us how to accelerate the resilience process, it only defines it:
1. "springing back into shape, position, etc. after being stretched, bent or compressed."
2. "recovering strength, spirits, etc. quickly."
Being resilient in body, mind and spirit is key to being happy and successful in all areas of life. Emotionally, it's the opposite of being "stuck in a rut" and it's about being positive. Physically, it can translate to strength and flexibility. Spiritually it can indicate faith with the ability to maintain hope in tumultuous times. It's about staying centered and grounded and making "right" choices.

Help For Caregivers: Prevent and Overcome Compassion Fatigue
Press Release From: KLB Services/Marketing & Public RelationsHelp For Caregivers: Prevent and Overcome Compassion Fatigue
Westbury, NY (December 7, 2015) - An explosion of 79.6 million births in the United States during the years 1946 to 1961 gave rise to the term 'baby boomers,' who once sported Davy Crockett-style raccoon hats, and enjoyed television classics such as The Mickey Mouse Show, Captain Kangaroo, I Love Lucy, and the trendy westerns of the day.
Boomers are now undergoing life-changing experiences as their aging loved ones become more dependent because of debilitating ailments and diseases. Thrust into the role of caregivers, they face an emotional roller coaster.
You may be a therapist, social worker, special education teacher, physician, nurse, clergy person, mother, father, daughter or son who is seeing to the needs of a dependent loved one. If you find that you are giving too much and have nothing left for yourself, or if you prefer going into isolation just to escape from the world and all its demands, you are not alone. There is help for the caregiver.
What often happens to those who continually give and overlook their own care and needs is "compassion fatigue," says Eileen Lichtenstein, MS.Ed, and Performance Success/Relationship Coach. "When we neglect our own needs, caring for those who are sick becomes overwhelming."
To assist caregivers, Ms. Lichtenstein is offering a new group, "Caregivers: Prevent and Overcome Compassion Fatigue" which is geared to help those who suffer in silence, and teach them how to help themselves.
